Adora: this hero has probably the least uses in the game, she isn't good in chimps, she isn't good in races, good for bosses but Benjamin is usually better there, and for Freeplay she is good there since she buffs the VTSG, which is the Freeplay tower but she needs to be constantly micromanaged since you have to constantly use blood sacrifice to buff the vtsg meanwhile Brickell can do that with zero effort and just a techbot (allbeit a little weaker). Churchill: is a damage focused hero, he is basically a better Quincy at the cost of having a worse early game which is a good trade considering early game is easily passable with just a bloonjitsu or a 203 sub. Ben: is the most popular choice outside of chimps mode, very good in almost anything, including races and boss Bloons, he is also probably the easiest hero to use in the game.

Obyn: while weaker than the other free heroes, his synergey with avatar of wrath is pretty nice and very beginner friendly. Striker Jones: a really good hero for chimps mode because of his synergey with Moab maulers, he is usually the preferred hero for bloody puddles and quad chimps, some of the hardest in the whole game.
